Howdy Friends!
Hope this finds you having a wonderful spring. It's now been a year since I made the leap to music city. Didn’t know how the landing would be, but I am happy to report that I am still sane and financially afloat…and what an adventure it’s all been.
I guess I could compare it all to a roller coaster as it’s had its definite ups and downs. I’m doing what I love so it doesn’t get any better than that, but I am far from the Montana land that I love which can be hard. Through it all, I have the steadfast support from all of you which always encourages and inspires me. You’re the folks I’m doing this for, and I can’t ever thank you enough.
I did get back to the homeland over the new years though, and flew the band in for some shows out West. This band that I’m playing with is unbelievable and I feel incredibly blessed to work with them. Loren Newton is probably the best drummer I’ve seen in Nashville. He originally hails from Kalispel, MT and has been on the beat in Nashville for over 3 years. His brother Jonathon is the lead guitarist, and is as smokin’ as they get. He’s also been in high demand on the scene for the past few years. Our bass player is Christopher Griffiths who originally hails from Detroit. He’s a helluva player and is a walkin’ jukebox. All 3 of the guys sing great and provide harmonies, and bring a vast knowledge of music and showmanship to the stage…they even bring a bit of rock n’ roll ;)
So, now I’m back down in ole’ Nashvegas and keeping busier than hell. I’ve been doing a fair bit of songwriting lately. Wrote an old style pop tune called “Tonight,” and had a lot of fun with that. Also wrote a bluegrass style song about a civil war drummer boy entitled, “Drummer Boy.” Boy do I know how to name a song ;)
I'm really excited to be part of Bio-Fest '08 this year. You can find out more by clicking on the link listed on the homepage. I'm currently booking dates in Montana and the West for this summer, and hopefully our paths will cross again soon. Anyhow, hope this finds you and yours doing well, and see ya soon!
All the Best,
