Jason DeShaw was born and raised in Plentywood, Montana. It was there where Jason found the inspiration for his music: the hardworking folks and rugged landscape that belong to Eastern Montana. A typical country boy, Jason’s childhood heroes were John Wayne and Johnny Cash. The second eldest of five boys, Jason penned his first song while driving a John Deere tractor, and made his recording debut on his mother’s answering machine.
In 2003, Jason graduated from Carroll College with a B.S. in B.S. and embarked on his musical career. Blessed with a superb voice, Jason began to play sold-out engagements throughout Montana, including an acclaimed concert at the Myrna Loy Center. Having received accolades from the Montana media, he began venturing outside of his home state.
Since 2004, Jason has been on the road entertaining audiences throughout the U.S., Canada, and Europe. He has opened up for Emerson Drive, Pam Tillis, and Little Big Town and has headlined two Bio-Diesel tours promoting its environmental benefits.
Jason has found time to record between tours and when asked about the success of his CD sales, he smilingly said, “Well they haven’t gone platinum yet, but they’ve gone aluminum!”
In 2007, Jason moved to Nashville and formed a 5-piece band which performed regularly at the world famous “Tootsies Orchid Lounge.” While all the other acts on Broadway were singing covers, Jason stood out as a guy who could get away with playing original songs. He was honored to perform a 9 day stretch through the CMA Festival entertaining packed audiences with his dynamic show. In July of 2007, Jason hit the road once again playing fairs and rodeos throughout the Northwest and Canada.
It’s all about “Livin’, Lovin’, and Leavin’” as Jason blends traditional country with his own new sound. With a back home feelin’ and natural stage presence, Jason’s music and personality draw in the crowd for a rockin’ good time. Whether country fan or not, you will be amazed by the song and show of Jason DeShaw!
